WELCOME! Like most people, for the last 7 or 8 days you have listened to, or read, or watched, reports about Malaysian Flight #370 from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Beijing, China that disappeared shortly after takeoff. We have heard NUMEROUS theories, proposals, ideas, etc ...some plausible, others outlandish..and yet we still have NO answers. We've heard about an employee on an oil rig say he saw "something" ;...we've heard about "villagers" saying they "heard something"...we've heard China say they registered a seafloor "event" ...and the list goes on. Most recently, we've heard that the engine data transmitter and the transponder were turned off at different times within the same hour. We've heard of a Wall Street Journal (WSJ) report that said the plane flew on for four more hours based on data transmitted from the rolls royce engines. We've heard Malaysia officials say the WSJ is wrong...that Rolls Royce did not confirm that to them (Malaysia). . But the day after the Wall Street Journal, despite Malaysian officials saying the Journal was wrong, there are more and more stories surfacing about such a possibility, along with most recently, radar data suggesting the plane increased altitude up to above 40,000 feet after turning off the transponder, and then returned to a lower altitude while also changing course directions a few times. We've heard speculation that only experienced pilots could fly it the way it was flown according to such radar data, and then we've also heard it speculated that such erratic flying could also be explained by "disabled" pilots, etc. We've heard that the USA is sending search craft to the Indian Ocean. And the list goes on. Sounds like the notion of the plane flying four more hours is gaining increasing credibility, but still we don't know for sure. This blog will post daily updates from the various news media sources to try to summarize what is happening at the moment.
Meanwhile, our thoughts & prayers go out to the crew and passengers of flight 370 ...there's faint hope that by some remote chance they may be alive, even if being held as hostages. I suppose that's better hope than a crash that took everybody's lives, but either way, neither scenario is happy. We pray for comfort for the family members who are left without any answers, not sure if they have lost their loved ones forever, or if there is hope they may see them again. And we pray for an answer to this most perplexing matter as soon as possible. -vk-
